Hurts while they chomp a bit for a few days then goes back to normal. They seem to take a while to work out their new latch as well.

Babies can get a bit excited by their teeth and bite but they tend to stop and my toddler didn't bite. Mine both got their first teeth at 4 months.

Good things to do at the bitey times are to give calpol and teething gel before a feed. Seems to help!

Babies with teeth and BFing is absolutely no problem as long as they behave themselves Grin - like makeminea6x says, when they discover their new teeth they do sometimes bite which hurts. A lot.

A sudden squeal/shout often stops them (although made mine cry with fright but it did make them unclamp so I was happy enough and anyway I could not have not shouted IYKWIM).
Also, don't pull the baby away , pull them closer and they will let go in order to breath. This works really well.

With each of mine I only got bitten once or twice - they got it really quickly.

Thank you. Suffering from fussy feeds and gummy biting. Feels like first teeth are imminent. Smile
