Nighttime engorgement - help!

Hi,
My 3 month old baby goes 9 hours without a feed at night and when I wake up to feed her my breasts have been really engorged to the point where they hurt a little.
Should I pump in between to prevent getting so engorged or in your experience will it get better over time if I leave it to my body?
I've also had recurring blocked ducts so am paranoid about leaving anything in there after the nighttime feed so am pumping to empty afterwards. Is this ok or should I wait until after the morning feed?
