Oh shit, leaky boobs caused leaky ceiling - painful mastisis help needed in a home crisis

Have been successfully feeding 14 wo DD but woke in the night feeling feverish, headachy and with an engorged and very painful right breast. Typically, my beast pump is at Mums house so did hot compress and combing then hand expressed a little into the sink. Stirred DD and latched her on whilst massaging the sore bit even though it hurt like buggery.

Managed to go back to sleep but woken by DH who was up early to tell me I'd left tap running and we had small waterfall in kitchen.

Have cleaned worst of damage and just hoping ceiling doesn't cave in. What a fucking terrible start to the day..

I'm sure we'll look back on it and laugh one day...

Anyway, whilst I wait for docs to open, bob is still agony - any other advice please??? Have taken some paracetamol.

Paracetamol, co-codamol or ibuprofen for the pain, antibiotics from doc ASAP, rest in your PJs, try to get DH to help out lots, fast food if necessary, brush breast with bath brush scrubber thingy, lots of feeding and pumping/expressing, hot water bottle...

That's pretty much my coping list for mastitis, have had it a few times in the last few months! It's horrible :-( Hope it goes away soon. Flowers

Thank you. Any ideas on overnight?? Been able to feed tonnes today but DD has started longer stretches at night - should I be pumping through the night? I really want to make sure this is as short lived as possible.

A hot shower, comb over the lump, paracetamol to get you through. Get antibiotics though, I had Mastitis and it is horrible. Feel better soon Thanks Thanks
