18-week-old DD has always been such a great sleeper. From 10-16 weeks she slept right through the night! I knew it would all change but even when you know something it doesn't make it easier...the last two weeks we've had at least two wakings and last night it was every two hours. She's in a cot with the side off attached to my bed and is EBF so I just roll and feed, but it's so exhausting!

She's my second, so I know it's normal, she's a delight in the day and there's nothing to 'fix' but I just wanted to moan a bit, because I have a 2yo too and I'm knackered! I must admit, visions of bottles have danced in my head when she's sucking for every last drop, but I know that won't make anything easier. I can totally see why people Gove solids early as it's so tempting to feel that would solve everything (not going to, I'm a BLW fan so the later the better for me).

Any other sleep-deprived mums out there?

(Lol at the auto-correct to Gove...bet you can't guess my profession!)

Sounds like a growth spurt to me.

It will pass.

(Bloody Gove! Grin)

Oh yes, I can practically see her growing in front of my eyes...but my sleep! My beautiful sleep! How I loved it so.

Here to empathise, DS is an absolute delight but has woken every 2-3 hours for feed at night since birth and he's now 20 weeks.

He often manages to time a 5:30am feed so he has just settled back down when DD (3 yrs) wakes for the day, oh how I long for the days when you could sleep when the baby sleeps!

The feeling of putting the baby down after a feed, closing your eyes and then hearing the toddler get up really is deeply depressing. Luckily DH gets up for work at 6.30 so gets DS's breakfast on work days and I can doze for half an hour or so but I miss having one baby and going back to sleep until 9!

In this situation I wouldn't hesitate to stick DD in front of the iPad in bed with me for an hour for some CBeebies, while I dozed.

And I said I'd never do telly.

Exactly the same as you OP!

DC2 is 18 1/2 weeks and frequent waker/ feeder. He may have one or two 2-hour stints per night but the rest of the time it's hourly.

DC1 about to turn 3 and still wakes so they take it in turns to demand my attention/ cuddles/ boob throughout the whole night!

Both currently have a chesty cough bug at the moment so the night times are like slow torture!!

Agree about sucking last drops out-it really does feel like that and this last week thoughts of early weaning have crossed my mind. But like you, I'm BLW all the way so holding out til we go on holiday at 24 weeks.

This will pass. This will pass. This will pass.

(She says while still waiting for 3 yo to sleep through the night.......)Wink

Feeds at 12, 4, 6 and 6.30 Hmm last night - surprised at the 4-hour stint but maybe she woke up and I didn't! She never cries in the night anyway, just sings.
