Breastfeeding in Northampton?

I just was curious where anyone has breastfed in public in Northampton.

I only ever go to Mothercare as I know they have facilities but it would be great not to have to hide away.

I have heard people say they have been told to 'put it away' when breastfeeding!

The cheek of it!

Wendy33, I have breastfed in lots of places in Northampton - M&S cafe, the Blue Plate Cafe, Paparazzi to name but a few. There is a Baby Cafe in Northampton, near M&S if you want somewhere to go that is more private, but not a little room in a shop. The only comment I ever had was an elderly lady telling me that it was great that I was feeding in public.

Thats great.
I fed in Morrisons cafe and had a couple of looks and mostly from elderly people.

I get a bit fed up of having to hide away. It is a shame theres not a website that has a list of breastfeeding shops and cafes listed.

I agree Wendy33 it is hard to know where to go to be sure of a warm reception when your b/fing out and about. In Northampton the County and Borough councils both have breastfeeding policies which welcome breastfeeding on all their premises. These include the Mounts Swimming Pool, Danes Camp, Lings Forum, all the libraries (childrens corner is a nice spot, especially with older ones too), the art gallery/museum, town hall, the country parks and probably others I can't think of, not quite cafes I know...

The Baby Cafe in Northapton is open every Friday 10.30 to 12.30 in the Friends Meeting house opposite the side entrance to Marks and Spencers. There are lots of bfing mums there who could tell you where they have found good to go.
