have stopped bfeeding now - how long will it take till the milk goes away. one nork in particular is hard and a little bit lumpy (but not red - don't suspect mastitis) and doesn't seem to be going down/ empyting.

Mine took about 1 week to stop feeling sore. I thought everything was fine but three weeks later I got full-blown infective mastisis and was laid flat for two days, so I would get some antibiotics from the doc as a precaution to keep in case you need them later.

Did you stop cold turkey? I took about 2 weeks to gradually cut down and when I stopped completely everything was fine. If you are a bit lumpy it could be a blocked duct(s) and you may want to express a bit to help sort it out.

hi, i was mixed feeding and then had to stop as wound infection meant antibiotics - that was 3 days ago. so no risk of mastitis developing i don't think. just discomfort. thanks for advice, and will just take painkillers for the next week or so i guess. thanks.

surrounded - did you want to stop? Antibiotics don't normally mean you have to.

hi tiktok - thanks for asking. i decided after much thought and lots of advice (both for and against whilst on antibiotics) to give up bfeeding. there was some dispute over one of my antibiotics and the particular dosage i was on. but yes, it was my decision.
