Milk powder dispensers- do you sterlise? (& how do you dry thoroughly?)

As it says in the subject heading really.

Would an occasional sterilisation be good enough?

Personally no I don't, and I use kitchen paper to thoroughly dry my little pot.

I sterilised mine last thing at night then left it upside down to dry out overnight. It was ready to use by morning but I must admit I didn't sterilise it after every use.

Could someone point me to their favourite milk powder dispenser ? I am curious. (And a little lazy)

i had the avent one with 3 sections, used to sterilise it, then stand it out for a while till it dried.

I always just used the spoon in the tub and the lid to level it off, ya see...

I've got 4 little food pots from poundland. And they are fine.

hub, it's the top thing here. It's not a great picture but essentially, it's a little pot that you put your measured scoops in - you can put 3 lots in (they are divided) and then you twist the lid over the section you want to use and tip the powder out.

We are way out of bottles but they are quite handy for going out or even for using at home - I used to measure the powder when I was feeling organised knowing that at some point later in the day, I prob would be rushed for time!

and I think I just shoved ours in the dishwasher

I had the avent one too, but never sterilised it - used to put it in the dishwasher (and the bottles as well). If you have a hot wash on the dishwasher (over 85 degrees I think), then the stuff comes out sterile.

Thanks fis. Something else we found, which are similarly useful are the little SMA single serving powder bags, like this . Each bag is good for a 120ml / 4oz feed. Also handy when out and about and it's not going to go off.
