If your breasts grew a lot in pregnancy AND you breast fed...

.... did they grow loads more after the birth?

Some people's breasts haven't grown that much in pregnancy, mine have grown lots and lots and lots (38wks), but I've not put on a huge amount of weight so I don't believe it's just fat.

People keep telling me to expect about another three cup sizes after the birth!!!!!

I am concerned about how much more they might grow for the sake of getting into some of my coats and jumpers for winter :( I only have one maternity coat because I wasn't really showing till March/April and I really don't want to have to go out and buy a whole winter maternity wardrobe too just to fit my boobs in...

So, if you grew loads in pregnancy, how much bigger were you a month or two after the birth than you were in the last week or two of pregnancy?

Thanks.

The first couple of days I looked like Dolly Parton, but after a week or so they settled down. They were a bit bigger, but not anywhere near 3 sizes bigger.

By a month or two, they were PG sized. They simply ballooned in the first few days post-partum, but settled back as feeding became established.

I'm not sure exactly how far you can predict what will happen. What size is DH? Because I can remember borrowing mine's ski jacket in the very early days. Perhaps not what I would have chosen as a day to day coat, but was fine as a stop gap.

Oops, new phone. I couldn't get bras to fit and mine are still huge.

This is a bit reassuring (though not feelinlucky's experience - that's what i'm worried about... and that i might need to order tops from plus-size websites even though i'm a 12 on bottom) - I have been borrowing a waterproof from DH all summer but stealing his ski jacket all winter isn't going to work as he'll be needing it! (we live in scotland, it does get properly cold here and I want to get out and about with LO for fresh air every day even if it is cold).

It's hard to tell with the bump but I was a 12 pre-preg but needed a 14 in fitted shirts or work jackets... now I'm in 12-14 bottoms when elasticated at the waist for the bump, but my top half is probably around a size 18!

I am going to really struggle to dress for the next year if bf works out!

Went up about 3 cup sizes in pregnancy, huge boobs for a month or so then settled back to similar to pregnant size just with smaller back and larger cup. By 10 months just a bit bigger than pre-pregnant size. Currently BFing #2 and following a similar pattern so far.

A month or so after birth!

My chest size got bigger during pregnancy, and my cup size ballooned to a ridiculous size at the end of pregnancy until about 2mths pp. They then settled down bit until I stopped BF and they went back down to just above what they were before.
I bought a cheap but very cosy waterproof winter coat from matalan a few sizes too big which fitted boobs in and later meant I could wear DS under my coat in his sling when we went for walks in the rain/cold which was both cosy & convenient.

I can cope with two months of dolly parton boobs - that would be mid-november, I can live in DH's coats till then i think.

Went up 3 cups during pregnancy and an additional 2 after birth. 9 months down the line, stopped breast feeding 4 months ago and they are still 3 cups bigger. I really don't like them :(.

I went from a 32C to a 34D during pregnancy, and then to a 34DD after the birth. By 4 months they had settled down a bit though and were probably 32D.

I'm going to be no help here:
DC1 - no pregnancy growth, loads when BFing
DC2 - loads of pregnancy growth, loads when BFing
DC3 - loads of pregnancy growth, none when BFing

So, pretty much every combination of growth possible!
I was heaviest with DC2 but not huge.
When your milk comes in they'll be humungous probably but for me they settled down after 3 days ish.

I was big before I got pregnant. Got huge when I was pregnant, and am now bloody massive now I'm breastfeeding. I was a 30G pre pregnancy and by 38 weeks I was a 36GG (which is an increase of 4 cup sizes). I'm now 12 weeks into breastfeeding and am a 32K - although I could do with a 32KK but they don't make them that big. My milk came in on day 4 and my boobs have stayed the same size since. I truly hate them...but DD loves them...
