Nursing chair or Suitable Alternative for night feeds

We are just about to move DD into her own room. She sleeps much better without us disturbing her. At the moment she seems to have relegated us to the spare room!

I need, however, to get a decent chair for night feeds (2x per night). It seems crazy to buy a nursing chair at this stage (7 months) but I am dreading being uncomfy. Hopefully she will be sleeping through soon but will still need a bedtime feed. She is a bit of a funny feeder and she needs to be comfy too.

It's not the cost per se but rather that I don't want to be landed with an ugly bit of furniture in a few months.

Any ideas for something that will do the job instead.

I'd love a nursing chair but I don't have room. The armchair that goes with the sofa or bed do us fine for the moment.

I don't think nursing chairs/glidersare ugly but you aren't the first person to say so. Clearly I have no taste!

The glider chairs can be quite narrow IMO for easy feeding ESP if bf...
How about an 'armless' chair? I was eying this one up in Dunelm mill

I use then poang chair from ikea. Brilliant for breastfeeding, comfortable and has a little bit of a bounce.

I second the Poang chair. You can also get a matching diddy version for DC when they're older. Grin

Thank you ladies. Will check ikea at the weekend. The Dunelm mill one looks lovely on web. Running blue - have you seen it in real life?

It's not that I think nursing chairs are completely ugly. I think they are fine for what they are but maybe don't blend into decor once their original use is over. If was pregnant again and had the space would definately get one but seems daft when I reckon I've only another 5 months of breast feeding left.

Yes, poang chairs are v comfy. If you want something cheap that you can just get rid of when you don't need it any more then a bean bag might work.

That's a really lovely armless chair, running - I'm tempted to get one! Although DS is 19mo so it would just be to look nice!

I like it as it would look great for this purpose or in the future. Good for reading bedtime stories too post feeding?!

Another fan of the ikea one here, I got mine off ebay for about £20! I have never been able to feed comfortably in an armless seat I have to say, I need something to rest my arms and ds on!

Yep I'm a poang girl too, we found it great, just use a v shaped pillow for a bit of back support to get best position for breastfeeding
They do have quite a big footprint though, so you need a bit of room ...

i used a poang from when ds was about 7 months to 2 years! the bounce was v handy for when he found it hard to settle. :)

i did need a cushion or 2 behind me to get comfy and fell asleep quite a lot.

i wish we had room for it now for DS2, but room now has cot and bed in it.
