Painkillers while breastfeeding - Fairly Urgent!

I've got the migraine starting wiggly lines in front of my eyes (sorry for typing errors)...

During pregnancy I could sleep through it, but needing to feed every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, that isn't possile now!

I'm assumung syndol is out of the question? Whats the strongest thing I can take?

I have taken migraleve whilst pregnant and breastfeeding, I didn't really have an option. Quick call to the doc and she actually ended up prescribing them for me, great as they're so expensive. I don't know what syndol is, but dr said migraleve def. ok.

I'd say ring a BF helpline and they always have someone who has access to Hales (the book that lists all drugs OK for BF).
You could ring your pharmacist or a pharmacist and ask....

If you can get away with only having to take them once, I wouldn't think the minute amounts your lo is getting would be harming, in my case it was either that or someone would be murdered!

Bf helplines may be able to help, but only by giving you info which you can then share with a doctor or pharmacist.

Ibuprofen is fine. Codeine is also approved by the AAP. In one study, where 60 mg. of codeine (#4) was given, milk levels peaked at 1 hour after dosage. In 48 hours, 12 doses were given and the estimated amount received by the nursing baby was only 0.1 percent of the maternal dose. To further reduce the amount of codeine your baby would receive through your milk, plan on taking your medication immediately after nursing, and then wait two to three hours before nursing again.

My friend found the net doctor site, and it said that although it did pass to the baby in small quantities, there have been no harmful effects found.

Took just 2 pills, and managed to catch it in time to be feeling more normal now (spent the afternoon nicely stoned, with my sister and mum looking after DD and DS )

After my c-section I was prescribed paracetamol and voltoral whuch is a anti-inflammatory as is ibuprofen. Ibuprofen and paracetamol can be taken together and I take them regularly for a back problem and I know these are safe whilst breast feeding. Hope this helps.
