Stopping bfeeding 10 days ago but have sprung a leak!

I stopped breastfeeding dd about 10 days ago - she's 8 months old and we were down to a couple of feeds a day. From nowhere last night I have started leaking, mainly from one boob but it's there in the other one too (but less so, one is v definitely bigger than the other!). This morning that boob is a bit achey and feels full. I had a bit of leakage in the first couple of days but not much, and I had noticed that they weren't 'deflating' yet.

So a) is this normal? and b) how long will it take the milk to go altogether? I just don't remember this happening when I stopped with ds (but then it is 4 years ago and my memory is pretty hazy generally).

It might take a while, you could try wearing tight clothing and stuffing savoy cabbage leaves down your bra, don't ask but it works... I've heard tell of some women's milk not entirely going for years, but their breasts don't get full, just if you squueze them iyswim... if it gets very hard an painful your gp can give you something to help I think.

when i stopped bf ds and when milk came in with DD I had to wear a sports crop top over the top of my bra so they couldnt move at all. Also well stuffed with breast pads[such an appealing look I cant tell you] I also took co codamol for the pain.

thank you. Am well stuffed with breast pads and am thinking that it is the return to normal bras that has done it... will try the sports bra idea. Feel like Dolly Parton today in a top that has been fitting perfectly well until now. Ho hum, will just have to sit it out.
