Blocked teats - HELP!!!!!

I am having trouble with the teats on my Avent bottles getting blocked.

It only happens at night when ds is given formular instead of EBM and as a result ds is getting stressed out and I am loosing out on sleep.

I take bottles of boiled water to bed with me so I can mix the formular when he wakes - the formular also has gaviscon powder mixed into it.

I've tried No 1 and 2 teats but they still block up - I've tried squeezing them, blowing through them. They unblock for a few sucks and then seem to stop again.

Ds is only 2 months old - should I try a No 3 teat?

Anyone got any experience of this or help, info?!?!?!?!?!?!?

It could be because the water is cold the formula and gaviscon don't disolve so well in cold water. I take a cool bag with bottles of made up cold formula to bed and use a bottle warmer on the nightstand to heat it through as we need it and have never had a problem with blocked teats when doing this.

Sweetheart, I had this problem as well and have found that the only teats that work with gaviscon are the variflow ones....all the other teats have too small a hole for it to get through no matter if you use 1, 2 or 3 (I tried all of them without success).....The variflow teat has a slit instead of a hole which will allow the thicker liquid through.
