Will it hurt again?

Gave up BF'ing in July when DD1 was 10 months and I was 6 months pregnant. Baby due in a few weeks and intend to BF again - will it hurt again like it did when I did it the first time? Do you still get sore second and cracked time round?

Personally, I found it difficult again the second time round but I'm sure there will be many people with more positive experiences. First time my nipples were really sore and bleeding. I resorted to expressing from the worst side because I couldn't bear to attach DD and breast feeding from the other. Lots of tears. At five weeks I decided to ditch the expressing and luckily managed to bf for 18 months. I'd hoped second time round would be easier and I was really particular about how I attached DS but still got sore. I think in this instance he just wasn't very good at it. I could sit there for 40 mins just trying to get him latch on. Cue lots of tears again as I got more and more anxious. I tried expressing but found using a teat really confused him and it became even harder to latch him on. However, we're 9 weeks on now and still breast feeding. I guess overall, it was easier, but still bad IYSWIM. It helped as DS has been a much "easier" baby than DD - I've had more sleep, more time between feeds which is great.

Perhaps the fact you'll only have gone 3 or 4 months without breastfeeding will work in your favour. Good luck with it anyhow.

On my third baby, she is 11 days old and everything has just about stopped hurting!!!

1st baby - did not hurt at all
2nd baby - Ahhhhhhh for about 6 weeks.

So what I'm trying to say is.....every time was different for me. Which does not help you in the slightest...does it
