Help! my 14 week old is suddenly refusing the bottle. She only has one occasionally (1-2 a week) to allow us to go out etc and had a bottle since week one but suddenly refusing it. I need to do occasional work and really need her to take the bottle!
Any suggestions?

Have you tried a cup or sipper or beaker rather than a bottle with a teat?
Good Luck

I am experiencing a similar problem with my 18 week old baby who like yours was fed the occassional bottle from about weeks 2/3. He is now refusing the bottle even from other people. I have tried a variety of bottles and teats with little joy. My doctor has suggested soya milk but I really don't think the content is the issue (I tried Expressed Breast Milk yesterday to test this theory). It is most definitely the bottle he has the problem with. I would also appreciate any advice.

Having the exact same problem will take it at night but not in the day! When can they take a cup/beaker? ds is 4 1/2 months has dropped a percentile in his weight gain in the last 6 weeks so really want to supplement bf I will be watching this thread very carefully!

I'm having the same problem. My 17 week old took the occasional bottle from 8 weeks but now at 17 weeks won't take it anymore. Have to go back to work next week. Have tried different teats, leaving the house etc but nothing works. HV said he'll take it if he's hungry enough but i'm not so sure...he just works himself up into a frenzy. we don't know what to try next

I had something similar with DS2, ended up going to one bottle a day (rather than 1 a week) so he was more familiar. He had to have them so I could take my other son to hospital appointments. Once it was more regular he seemed ok

my dd3 has dropped 2 percentiles and i havent been advised to supplement breastfeeding feeding at all. she has taken milk from a cup since about 3/4months old. she is now 8months and have been adviced to try and up her solid food intake with carbs/protein.

I had a similar problem recently. He eventually took the bottle but the feed took 35 minutes whereas breastfeeding takes 10-15. Realised it was because he was 15 weeks old and still on size 1 teat. He now glugs happily on a size 3. Could it be that the bottle is too slow?
