Feel awkward

I have a 5 yr old son who has a very close friendship with one of his cousins who is also 5. They have always been close even though she is a girl she is a tomboy. I invited her round to play with my son. They were happily watching tv when i returned i found my son tickling her in apropriate places. My son seemed embarssed as i explained to them that it wasnt appropriate. I told her mum and at the time she seemed fine but later rang me saying it unsettled her. I also felt unsettled but my partner reasured me was normal.
His cousin was supposed to be coming around again this weekend but her mum has cancelled saying she is now going swimming instead. I feel so akward about it all.

Could he have seen something on telly that's confused him?

I think she prpbably is avoiding you. Could you suggest a catch up where the kids are being explicitly supervised so a coffee shop etc to talk?

You both feel weird but is most likely just kids not knowing or understanding. You need to talk really
