To Blog or Not To Blog?

To Blog or Not To Blog?

Now that is my question...

I want to start a blog but I'm too frightened to have my kids photos and real names on the blog due to past problems with local authorities (ie social services)

Is there a way to blog without revealing who I am or who my children are?

I was also thinking perhaps like an invite only one, but not too sure.

Could anyone perhaps help me, give me any advice at all?

You could always refer to yourself, your children in an alternative way.

I use an abbreviation of our surname.
Just choose something and stick with it. But don't be put off. Writing gives you a great freedom of expression and you will meet plenty of likeminded souls to keep you company along the way :)

You can put however much or however little information you want regarding blogs. If you want to keep your identity secret or change names that is your choice because the best thing about your blog, is you can do whatever you want.

I can't wait to start reading if you decide to do it.

And you don't have to put photos of your kids or yourself. You could make photo's with unrecognisable scenery (like nature), still-lives (for example toy arrangement if you're writing how you play with your kids) or use some royalty free image stocks. Some photos on flickr under the licence that you could use it if you link back to the author's flickr page.
