Just wondering where the best place is to put pictures. At the moment, I'm just uploading them to Blogger from folders on my desktop. But it just occured to me that, firstly if my laptop dies then I'll lose all the pics on my blog, and secondly, I've no way to check if the pictures are actually there IYSWIM. I can see them, but then I have the local copy on my laptop, I don't know if they are visable on any other computer. Blush

So, where does everyone else put their pictures? I'm not too keen on Flickr because my pictures are of my work and I don't really want anyone else using them without permission. Is Picassa any good? Or what about Dropbox?

I use dropbox, for the simple reason that they are then available on iPad and iPhone too, and easy to transfer from one to the other.

Saying that, your pics are uploaded to your blog so they are on there, whether your laptop dies or not.

Ah, so I don't need to put them anywhere online first then. I think I might use dropbox, just so I have a backup.

Sorry for the stupid question - I'm very new at this whole blogging lark!

No question is a stupid question. :)

I must admit that I may drop dropbox when Apple have their iCloud finished but up till now I have used it a lot.

Dropbox isn't private or secure either, though. And google docs is a little dubious. Why not put them on an external harddrive or just burn them onto CDs?

Dropbox is private though, no one except me can see my pics unless I put them in a shared order

I thought Dropbox was private, well, as private as anything is online anyway.

I've heard quite a lot about how insecure it is. Wouldn't use it myself. Also, check the T&Cs, I have a nasty feeling it was them I was reading about when I was reading that they own your stuff when you put it on there. Will dig out article.

Eek FB, I'll check that. DH uses it, and he is usually totally paranoid about security (as well as being a total geek), so I figured it was fine, I'll find out though. Thanks.
