... so I decided to start a blog (why not??) - free with blogger (or what ever the google one is)... how do I change the backgound picture. At the moment it is of a road - a templete provided by them. Please don't make me ask dh.. Can I chnage it to be one of my photos or am I forever more stuck with a road

Yes you should be able too, can depend on the Theme that you selected for your Blog.

Did you register with Blogger.com?

Hey go to design top right corner and then template designer top left side and you should be able to choose one. I've just started a blog on there too!
