I had an ectopic pregnancy 18months ago and lost my right tube. Trying to get pregnant again ever since, i already have a dd who is 3.6. I had no problem concieveing dd only took 3months and about 4-5 month with the ectopic. Gone through hell since everyone I know seems to be pregnant.
Had a hysteosalinogram ( xray of other tube) the remaining tube is blocked but they couldnt see well enough have to have lap and dye. Has anyone else had this done did the dye unblock the tube? How much can they unblock.
I am just hoping it can be unblocked cant cope with the thought of having ivf as well. Seeing the consultant this afternoon to see when I can have lap and dye done. My dad is paying for me to have it done privatley I had done my nut if i had to wait another 6months+ on the Nhs. I feel so negative as everthing seems to be bad news at the moment. How much does ivf cost? I am also worried if tube can be sorted what if it all happens again.

I'm sorry about your ectopic I too have had a tube removed with one ectopic
I have no info about blocked tubes, but I know some people have had blockages removed and conceived. As for it happening again
When you get your + test you ring your doc and ask for an early scan and also sometimes HCG bloodworks to detect your levels are raisign properly - this can help early detection - vital if like us you only ahd the one tube left.
If it was ectopic, it cna be dealt with early by injection. therefore saving your tube
I wish you much luck for your lap and dye hope to see you posting better news soon
xxxxxxxx

Saw the consultant this afternoon not so good. Not sure what to do should I pay £2000 for lap and dye or not bother and go straight for ivf and spend the £2000 on that. If he could on block the tube probabley be scarred and stuff so more likeley to have another ectopic and i couldnt cope with that. I didnt realise this but can still have an ectopic with ivf stats on web said only 2-4% though so not to high not sure how arrcurate this is though. Can any one reccomend a good clinic I have heard success rates vary. I live in hampshire. Feeling really crap need something positive. My daughter asked me the other day if she could bye a sister in tescos that did make me smile.

I went in for a laparosapy after trying for 5 years with ds1. I felt totally deflated after being in hospital as when I came round the consultant explained that they have tried to inject die into both my tubes but they were so blocked that they had been unable.

They arranged for me to go back into hospital 2 weeks after my next period and they were going to attempt something else. i never had another period though as I had fallen pregnant, probably the week after the lap. Hope things work out well for you.

Oh cedar, just wanted to say sorry. It all sounds very traumatic. I wish you the best of luck and hope it all works out. Maybee the Ivf sounds the way to go, if you are concerned about dye, who knows while waiting you may get preg naturally like mellow monster.

Hi Cedar, i am really sory to hear your. I myself am just recovering from my 3rd epc i know its really hard for you to decide what to do at the moment but if it help i will let you know what happend to me.
with my 1st epc i lost my left tube. The 2nd was in the stump of my left tube which was left. That was 18 months ago. I new my chances were slim but i went away and tryed for another 12 months to concive with no joy. I went to see my consultant he did some test and he recomended that we go for ivf . I had an idea how much ivf cost so we decided that i would take clomid. I only took it for the first month and got + result. But again this was an epc. When the doc went in to fix he had to remove my tube and aslo my womb. Thats it for me now but i do have 2 beautiful dds. I just wish that i had gone for ivf mayby that would have worked. I hope this helps .

Takw care and remember to keep smileing [smileing]
