Bereavement

How do I conquer my PTSD?

I have been struggling badly since I found my father dying at home. I have been for treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and now await further help. My mood is up and down but mostly the former, and feel depressed pretty much every day. I don't have control over how to overcome this and my marriage is being affected. I don't have no family to talk about this to ease my state of mind. Any advice would be welcome.

I'm not sure I can give you any advice. I'm certainly not a professional. I do know that grief takes time and is different for all of us. It is a hard road but you aren't alone.

Seek professional help and post on MN is all I can suggest.

Thank you. I am currently awaiting further help though it's taking to long. I just want to feel better soon. It's been nearly two years and I have not been me ever since.

Just checking in lost. Hope you have managed the weekend.

I understand PTSD as I had it and my DS still does. When I had it I think what I was going through was so big I didn't really know about the PTSD as I was dealing with all the raw emotions of a tragic loss.

Loss is very challenging to deal with. There is no set time or way to get through. Do keep posting if you need to.
