My dear dear friend's sister has taken her own life. It's always a horrible thing but this was in such tragic circumstances. My friend and her family are broken, and I am really struggling with it. I keep getting upset, and can't help but cry. It doesn't help that I now live so far away that it is a physical impossibility to be with her, and time difference makes it difficult to even speak on the phone. We are relying mainly on texts/pms to communicate.

She was young, with children, and I just feel so so sad. For her, her children and husband, my friend and her children and their poor parents, who are fairly elderly and not in great health.

I don't really know what else to say, I just feel terrible.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. How far away are you?

16,000 miles, as far as I can be unfortunately. Just adds to your sense of helplessness, in that there is actually nothing that I can do.

Tragic. You will support your friend, obviously, and I hope there's someone who will support you too.
