My friend has 2 boys (2yrs and 18mths) and their dad died this week. I would like to do something nice for them (as opposed to the usual flowers). I don't know them well enough to take them anywhere so I'm trying to think of something really special and thoughtful - even if it doesn't mean anything to them now it might later?? IFSWIM

could you look into a time capsule kind of thing. Sorry I am a bit vague but you know something they can put pictures in etc.

Hello how about little keepsake tins or boxes so then they can put special little things into them that may remind them of there daddy such as photos etc, this is something that they can do when they are abit older and they will have them forever aswell. hope this helps you :)

what about 2 v ncie 'keepable' toys which will remond them of their dad in yrs too come.....something wooden like a nice fire engine......(or a sport or something their dad was into)something that will cheer them up now (as they wont really know 2 much of whats going on) and maybe playwith and give their mum 5 seconds break.....and something that will last.

my boys have a fab 'metal/tin' car which i hope they will one day use if they have thier own children.

How about taking them out or coming round to help with housework or meals?
I think your time and effort speaks volumes in a situation like this.
