Not sure that there is a right or wrong time.

Mine goes at 7pm (along with 8mo ds2) because I've had enough by then. Sometimes he goes straight to sleep, other days he chatters to himself and plays with cars for a while.

really depends on what your comfortable with

i'm a sahm so it can be hard going with the youngest 2 during the day and i need my peace in the evenings so DS2 (3) and DS3 (2) go to bed about 7.30pm and DS1 (10) and DD (6) go to bed about 8pm

but it depends on whether you work or not, i know when i used to work when DS1 was younger i never picked him up form nursery until 6pm so i didn't put him to bed until about 8 or 9 otherwise i wouldn't spent any time with him other than tea, bath and bed

Mine is spark out at 7, and wakes up at around 7 am. He has an hour nap in the day.

If you don't have to be out at a particular time in the morning, nothing wrong with putting them to bed later so that they wake later though

My two year old goes to bed at 8.30 and wakes up at 7. If I tried to put her to bed at 7 there'd be hell to pay!

I rarely get my 18mo DD into bed before 8. I have tried to creep her bedtime forward, but the very earliest she will go is 7:45.

However much or little sleep she has had during the day she strongly objects to being put to bed any earlier, but is usually ready to go by then.

It depends on what works best in your house - as we have to be up early to be out the house, then mine need to be in bed for about 7 or 7.30 (they are 2 and 4).

There is no right or wrong, but I think most 2 year olds need about 11 or 12 hours at night; if they go to bed late and wake early they might not be getting enough sleep.

Was 8 pm to 7 am at 2 yrs. Now she's 3 and I'm struggling to get her to bed by 8.30. I hear a lot of people but theirs to bed earlier - but dd clearly isn't sleepy enough to do that and we don't get her up that early.

Mine is in bed at 7 because he will sleep for 12 hours. However, lots of my frinds' los go later becvause they sleep 10 or 11 hours. There#s no point sending them early of they will be awakw at some ungodly hour, so sounds perfectly sensible to me.

10-12 hours before she gets up. There is no right time

dd is 2.3 and is always asleep by 8pm regardless of how much sleep she has had during the day! She is usually up at 6am though, would love it to be later but have tried later bedtimes and she still wakes at 6! think they have an built-in clock!!

my 2 are 2 and 3 and go to bed somewhere between 7 and 8, depending on how late dinner was, whether dd has playschool in the morning, how sick of them i am by the evening.

it'll have to b more rigid once dd ;earnes to tell time but for now it works for us.

can't imagine having them up til 9.... i'd cry!

22months goes to bed when we've had enough of him. If he's tired and grumpy this will usually be sooner rather than later.

Anywhere between 6 and 11 (although 11 rare and usually when we go out with visitors for a meal)

Thank you for the replies!! I would love to get her in bed earlier but she just wont have it however she sleeps thru till about 7.30 so not too bad. Think I will just leave her till next year and she starts nursery full time!

My ds 23 months and a bit goes when we have had enough also - generally 7 if hes in a good mood but if hes tired and strppy nearer half 6. Regardless he is still up anywhere between 6.30 and 7.30 so i figure may as well have peace inan evening.

My 2 year old daughter goes to bed at 7 every night and sleeps 12 hours 7-7.
She did go through a spell of waking at 6, but I just did the controlled crying for a few days and it worked a treat. She has the same routine everynight bath at 6, Milk and supper at 6.30 then story and chill out time till 7. It works for her

Depends what time you have to get up at the following day.
DS was whenever he started to nod off, usually about 9ish, when he started playgroup at 3 and a half we had a stricter bed time.

Ds (2.10) has a bath at 7pm and goes to bed at 8pm, but he still needs an afternoon nap of at least 1.5-2 hours.

When he drops that, which will need to be soon to fit in afternoon pre-school sessions, I might need to move his bedtime to about 7pm. Unfortunately this means that he might not see dh before he goes to bed .

As someone has said, it's whatever works for you and the sleep requirements of you child.
