I've seen reference in various messages to a 2 under 2 support thread. Can anyone direct me to where I can find this?

I need support! DD2 due in 3 weeks, DD1 is 17months we are still having sleep issues - early wakings, night wakings - need help or at least to know someone else out there has got through this (alive!)

Up until a few months ago she had been a good sleeper. Going to bed at 7 without fuss - getting up around 6.00 - 6.30ish.

Then she got ill and was ill for around 3 weeks and the whole routine went up the spout.

She currently goes to bed a 7 still without a fuss but wakes up 1 - 2 times a night - sometimes she will settle off herself - but often i need to go in and settle her off. The worst thing though is she has got into an early waking cycle - anywhere between 4.20 - 5.00 - horrible as she is soooooooo tired when she wakes.

She then either falls asleep in the car around 8ish when i drop her off at my mums before going to work which will keep her going till lunchtime nap.

the lunchtime nap which was around 1.5 - 2hrs (and she woke up lovely and happy - refreshed) is now only an 1hr and she wakes up screaming.

It feels to me like a vicious circle of overtiredness but how can I break - tips please.

x

p.s. still interested in 2 under 2 thread whereabout if anyone can point me in right direction.

thanks.

Meant to add - I'm walking dead on my feet because I'm still working (not for much longer though) - and I'm scaring myself silly reading threads about how DD/S2 upset 1st born's routine - sleeping and I just don't know how I'm going to copy with LESS sleep.

Seems impossible. DH is a bit useless

I think the 2 under 2 thread has morphed into two under 3 as they have gotten older!

I am going to have 2 under two in November though, so would love to chat to others who are going through it. I can barely cope with my one just turned 1 never mind when she is 17mo and I'll have a newborn.

Thanks smallwhitecat - anything is worth a go.

lackaDAISYcal - do you know how we start a 2 under 2 thread going? Is there a separate place to do it?

I think you've just done it sunshine . That's why I clicked anyway; I thought it was a new one. It could be in post-natal clubs though if you think that's a better place for it.

There used to be a 2 under 2 support thread until some of our dcs had birthdays and we became this: the sparkly 2 under 3 support thread

You're welcome to join us there!

(must go -- have 2 under 3 to deal with (obviously!))

i was going to suggest dropping the mid-day nap untilthe nighttime sleeping is back on track then let her only have asleep when it just happens, no set naptime... my dd rarely has a nap now, and hasn't since she was around 14mths as she didn't need it, she'll only nap when she's REALLY tired now!!

Good luck!!
