DS2 is 3 (4 in September). By and large, he's a sensible child, cautious, the usual stuff.
But I've misplaced him a couple of times lately, once fairly severely, because he wanders a bit.
Yesterday we were at Weston Super Mare (yes, I know, that's where I went wrong), on the beach (yes, once again). He said something about wanting to go in the water, and the next thing I knew, he was missing. We found him waist deep in the water, getting knocked down, and loving it.
He'd obviously got used to nice quiet beaches (where wandering off was fine, because I could always see him!), and wearing a wet suit.
I've had words with him about talking to me before he goes in the water, but how do I retrain myself from 'my children are sensible' to 'DS2 is a random little bugger who is drawn to water'?!?

Oh bugger ... DS2 is still wandering off, ideally towards water now ...
