My 8mo DS has gone off his food, except for bottles. He does take a wee bit of porride in the morning but turns his nose up at savoury AND sweet. he might take a few bites of a banana but that's about it. He takes 3 7oz bottles during the day. He's well, if a bit grumbly at the momnet so I'm assuming it's his teeth (might be the 2 top ones?). Should i up his bottles to 4, or, since he sleeps well at night, leave things as they are and let him tell me when he's hungry? (First time mum here, incase it wasn't obvious)

I had the same problem when my ds' first two bottom teeth came through. He rejected bottles aswell though. I just left him to t and it sorted itself out!

I'm sure you're right. He's chomping on the end of the spoon right now has has been for ages. Must be relief for his wee gums. i guess we go off our food when we're feeling iffy.

sorry to hijack your thread, but have a 14 week old ds (first) who, since 10 days has been dribbling, biting his fists and sucking anything that comes within range. Having only just gotten him into a waking only twice through the night rhythm, he is now incapable of sleeping more than 1 1/2 hours at a stretch night or day and is off his feeds (breast). Am I right in thinking its his teeth (if a bit early), or has my ds been babynapped and replaced with a dribbling farting irritable leech from the planet zog!?

My DS drooled for Scotland from 12 weeks through until his first tooth came through at 6months. (dribble bibs are fantastic). No tips for through the night as DS was fine, but if he's irritable before normal bed time, and his cheeks are burning, i give a spoonful of calpol. I don't use it all that often (just onto a the second bottle, first being the one i got at around 12 weeks) but if a wee bit of medicine makes him feel better, i don't see the harm.
