I have a four week old son and he has quite big breasts. They are hard to touch and he also has big nipples. Anyone have any experience of this? TIA

I think this is usual in little babies and nothing to worry about. I remember DS had this when he was a couple of weeks old and netioning it to HV who said it was perfectly normal.

It's probably caused by left-over hormone from before he was born. My ds1 had slightly swollen breasts as a newborn too. Apparently sometimes milk comes out of them. Don't worry, it's all to do with you, not him. Check with HV if you're worried.

sometimes the mohters hormones can go through into the babies in the womb. some male babies have been reported to secrete mill. did you know that all babies start as female and only at week 14 or something like that then the chromosones/DNA take over and either keep female genetalia or alter them into male (in a nutshell). so basically it is normal.

Thank you. I'm sure it's all fine, I just thought they would have gone down by now! Will mention it to the HV when I see her on Monday. Thankfully I seem to have a good one
