DD1 was ill at Christmas and since then she has gone from being a normal confident child to crying incessantly in certain situations. At home she is fine even with visitors but if she goes to see her cousins or other children (whom she was fine with before) now she just stands and cries. Nothing will make her snap out of it...believe me I have tried! Any advice appreciated.

Hi Flynnie my dd was sick last Oct and became very clingy and upset at the most bizzare things that she was ok with before. If she heard dh's key in the door she would run to me screaming that she was scared but obviously she would be ok when she saw it was him. She also got upset with certain kiddie programmes that she loved before. It was just a phase but it lasted about two months and it took a lot reassurance and even singing and funny stories about whatever she was upset with. She also had no interest in her toddler classes that she used to love, she just wasn't interested and would cry when we went to them.
I just took her a bit of time but even now I notice that if she wants extra attention she'll tell me she's scared. At the moment she is afraid of the sun not there is much of it anyway!
She's 2.2 byw.

Thanks. yesterday we went to visit my sister and her little boy who is about the same age and everytime anyone other then me went near her she just cried. she would stop for a while, have a great time and then start up again. on top of that my dd has begun to imagine bumble bees everywhere which sends her into a fit.
