How old is your baby. My dd is nearly two and weighs about that and my ds nearly 1 weighs about 20lbs.
So as long as your baby is healthy and well that is the main concern.

I gave up watching the scales too closely when my 2 dc started catching each other up.

Give it a couple of months when ds is likely to start walking and they will look like twins.

I'm no expert by any means, but my ds does this where he seems to pile on the weight, then suddenly shoot up in height, so compared to his sister is very big in comparison., but big in height as well as weight so not even chubby with it, so I have always just took it that they are all differant.

Hes probably just going to grow up to be a bidg strong lad

What weight was he born pelafina? Have to say, weighing a baby on bathroom scales isn't the most accurate! Don't worry.

My DS is 12 weeks old and weighed 15lbs 2 oz when last weighed at 10 weeks. He is on the 91st centile - having consistenly climbed from 50th centile at birth - and a big lad. He is also tall and HV says he'll level out eventually and not to worry. DD was such a dainty thing that its all a bit alien but, to a certain extent, I think that's boys for you. I have a couple of friends whose sons were on 91st centile as babies but, as toddlers, have really levelled out.

Isn't it by 4 months they are meant to double their birth weight roughly?

my dd is 14weeks and 17lb 9 oz. i really wouldnt worry to much as long as the weight gain is steady and doesnt jump about too much, (thats what my hv told me). I was worried because other babies her age were so much smaller, but she is fit healthy and active, im sure when she starts toddling it will even out
