My DD just 2, has developed a really annoying habbit. At least I HOPE its a habbit. She can talk fantastically well, but has just recently started replying "Huh?" everytime you ask her something. DH now says that DD is deaf, but surely she cant be because her speach is so advanced? Is this normal behaviour or should I see doc?

Try whispering 'Would you like some chocolate?' - you'll soon see if she's deaf!

DD used to do this - I think it's just a phase - she's just busy thinking about something else & isn't paying attention. They do it as teenagers too....

DD did this once she started at nursery - it drives me nuts but the more I make an issue of it the more she does it!!

It happens less now but if she does I just carry on talking until she answers properly - she soons gets the message when I ask if she wants a biscuit and she says huh. I then just say oh well, x can't want one as she has forgotton how to speak properly! She soon says yes please mummy!

We have tried the "Want Sweeties?" question but still replies "huh". Biggest worry seems to be that she only answers when she can see our lips move. Surely too young to lip read?

When my dd was 2 I honestly thought she had hearing problems. She has always been a great speaker too.

By the time I had convinced myself there was something wrong it stopped. I did ask her once if there was something wrong with her ears and she told me no she just wasn't listening.
