DD1 age 6 nearly 7 CAN ride her bike, however she cannot steer it without me yelling from behind to do so and she cant use the brake either. If she wobbles she chucks herself and the bike to the floor and is making such a fuss its unbelievable.
Shes crying as shes going along, even more so when wobbling and throwing herself off.
We will persevre but is anyone elses dd/ds like this?
BTW Im chasing along behind like a coach saying Go dd1 Thats it! Half Way there WWWOOO HOOO etc to try and keep her motivationa and confidence up.
DD2 age 3.11 looks like a natural on her bike and I think if I look the stabilisers off she would just go, but I dont want to bash dd1s ego so im not going to until dd1 mastered it.

My ds1 is just turned 7 and is exactly the same - in fact he wont go on it without my dp holding on to the back. It is frustrating and all his friends can ride their bikes. I have decide to leave it for a bit and try again - thats my advice for what its worth. I just dont think its worth pushing them when they get so distraught and I get more wound up!!!

My ds2 was 13 before he finally got to grips with his bike! He was OKish on the flat but couldn't stop or turn. It got to the stage where he was just embarrassed to go out on it because his friends could all ride so well. Persevere if she's happy too and keep up with the praise otherwise leave it and she might find it easier later when she's a bit bigger/stronger.
