eating weird stuff

my daughter is five and likes to eat sand, that isn't so bad, but now she has started putting bits of mortar / concrete in her mouth to chew (she says she likes the crunch!). I am a bit worried about what the concrete etc. might contain, how do I get her to stop?

Is she doing it to get a reaction? if you ignore it and make a fuss when she eats normally it might stop.Dunno really!!
