want to stop late feed but worried about dehydration: should I drop it or wait?

I'm in Central Asia, it's blimmin hot in the dayime, about 35-38 degrees, and only drops below 30 by 11 pm or so..

DS is nearly 9 months, breastfed plus three meals a day plus regular water offered throughout the day. he's not a great drinker, though. I'm still giving him a very small breastfeed at 10.30 or 11 pm before I go to bed, I guess at some point this would be cut, (he doesn't seem to really need it, just sucks politely then pulls away), and last few days I've been trying to give him water as well which doesn't work cos he's so sleepy.

Does anyone have any tips? I'm worried he's dehydrated as it's so hot, and he doesn't seem to have been weeing as much as normal.. so last thing I want to do is try and make him go from 7-7 without a drink, I couldn't go that long myself! any experiences much appreciated!

Would he drink from a sippy cup? My kids always had a sippy cup full of water in their beds, even in much colder places.

my son self weaned at 22 months - they let you know when they don't need/want it anymore. In my case he handed me my bra and asked for a cup of tea!

thanks, will try just keeping on giving him water in the night, I guess, and keep the feed for now. Want to give up bf at some point (around a year) cos want to get preg again (glutton for punishment), and I"m SICK of pumping milk at work, though like the normal breastfeeding...
