Any Child Psychologists out there??

'cos I really need some advice on my ds's (4.11) behaviour

What's the problem Tiggerish?

I don't work as a child psychologist but I have qualifications in child psychology to Master level. Also some of the best and most useful advice i have received has been from other parents.

My ds has a real problem with day-time wetting. Part of the problem is physical and he takes ditropan for it. That has stopped the persistent dripping. But he has more major accidents (ie ones that mean he needs clean pants and trousers) at least twice a day.

I suspect that part of it is stress related but everything we have tried to do seems to have made the situation worse.
We gently encourage him to go to the toilet - and then he lies about going and still wets himself. So we have been having serious issues about the lying which has caused everything to get worse.
I'm just not sure what is the best way to handle it any more.

I don't have any experience of that but I know some of the parents on the special needs board have to deal with this sort of thing. Try posting another thread in the SN section. Hope you get some help

Just an idea but have you tried a reward chart with him. You know the sort of thing - he earns a star for every time he uses the toilet and he can earn himself a treat when he has earned enough stars.

Not recently - but he'll just lie and say he's been. I don't really want to stand over him every time.
