My ds1 is 2.6 years old and loves tv, mainly docs about sharks! Anyway he has it on for 30mins in the morning then playgroup until 12 tv on again whilst I make lunch then I usually take him out around 2.30ish until 4.30. then tv on again! Thats about 4 hors a day. he doesnt always watch it but will play in front of it.
He has a play room but would rather bring his toys into the lounge and play in front of the tv.
Today Ive decided he can have it on for 30mins whulst I make lunch then its off until 5.
Do you have telly addicts?

My ds 2.4 watches about an hour in the morning, then a bit at lunch time, then about an hour or two between 4-6. he goes to bed at 6.30. I don't have it on in the background while he is playing as if I do it won't hold his attention enough when I do put it on, so I can't get things done like have a shower, tidy kitchen/bedrooms etc. If CBeebies isn't holding his focus I put a Bob or Pat DVD on. I try to monitor his tv amounts, and am uncomfortbale with much more than this, but some days the weather or illness means he gets a bit more....I do try to do other stuff though, like playdoh or reading or painting....we keep his toys in the conservatory and I try not to allow toys in front of the telly...although I DO use it to get him dressed in front of most mornings....
