I am not to sure where to post this but this is as good as any. Few things...my dd is 5 months and has had a runny nose for the last 3/4 weeks. She wakes up with a lot of dried snot and when I am feeding her (bf) I can hear it rattling about in her nose...sorry bit too much info I know. She has never slept through the night, I would feed her at 6pm, put her to bed at 7pm, dream feed at 10pm and then she would wake at 4/5am for a feed, on the odd occasion would sleep though but not often. Last Thurs we decided to start weaning, she has been watching what we eat and trying to steal my bourbon biscuits for the last month, she has had her milk from a spoon before and just seemed to be "ready". She took the baby rice fine on the Thurs & Fri. On the Sat I gave her 2 teaspoons of the rice with her milk and she took it fine. Then woke at 1am crying, I fed her and then tried to put her back to bed and she just screamed until 3.20am when we finally got her back to sleep. The following day we tried her with pear at lunch and baby rice on the night..but just a teaspoon of rice and she was fine. Then on Xmas day we didn't give anything at lunch time...just didn't find the time but gave her pear on the night, she took 2 cubes and then had her bath as normal. After her bath she wouldn't feed just screamed so put her to bed, she woke at 10pm crying but wouldn't feed, continued crying until 11.20pm then fed for 20mins and slept until 8am. We decided to give her 2 days with no solids and she was fine on Tues but last night she did the same thing. Woke at 9pm crying, didn't want to feed, did a big burp and then a poo. Got her back to sleep at 10pm after feeding, then she woke at 12.20am same thing, this time rubbed her back no burp but fell asleep on my knee. Then woke at 3am for a feed, went back to sleep no prob and slept until 7.30am. I am worried that giving her solids before she is 6 months has done some harm to her digestive system and this is causing her to have wind. She has never suffered from pain/wind and brings her wind up really easily before this week. I am thinking of taking her to the health clinic today, but I know they will just say it's because I gave her food to early? Just after some reasurance really? Anyone???
