title says it all! they're chasing us for DD's check, oddly enough 2 days after we had a show down with the GP about her inadequate service....

HV attached to surgery, plan to switch GPS but can't until situation with DD and her leg is resolved...

DD completely normal, her sight problems are dealt with through the hospital so nothing to report really.

My ds didn't have a 3 year check. They sent a questionnaire to be completed, and I guess they would have called us in if they weren't satisfied with anything we said on it.

I thought all 3 year checks were done this way now.

No 3-year checks here either. We get a list of things that your child is supposed to be able to do by the time they are 4yrs old and that's it.

I don't see how they could force you to have the check done tbh.

Erm i think DD2 had a 3 year check.
If i were you i would ignore it. If they ring you up or visit you, then just say that you are comletly happy with her development e.t.c so you didn't see the need.
Or you could write your H.V a letter explaining.

I think they do 3 year checks here because we are in a generally deprived area of the country.

Thanks, will be as generally obstructive as I can. TBH they will probably get bored because I work f/t so there's no way i could take time off for it..

We're marked as bad parents for refusing MMR and telling the GP, in the nicest possible way, that she's c**p

We have 3 yr checks here too ML - same situation I guess. Only time I met the HV here (having moved) - she was awkward arranging up appointment time; then arrived about 30 mins late; then took c.1.5 hrs to do checks that could have taken 20!

Guess what my advice would be?!

We don't have the 3 year check in Sheffield either - just a questionnaire apparantly. My HV said that this is due to be ophased in throughout the UK now for any children with a 'normal' 2 year check.

Does the check involve any kind of medical exam or is it just of the jump up and down, kick a ball, build a tower type?

I ask because although I thought checks were a waste of time ( I can see my child is fine) until my daughter's 3y check a few weeks ago when a heart murmur was found for the first time. It's probably fine but she will see a paediatric cardiologist in June just to be sure.
