Does anyone have any? Not looking to spend a fortune but would like something durable and practical.

There is only one! IKEA Antilop

I second the ikea one. We had a more expensive highchair at first but it was a nightmare to clean. Then I ended up getting the ikea one as so many people recommended it. It's amazing, practical, cheap and easy to clean.

Ikea antilop, honstly, don't bother with anything else!

Ikea Antilop. £13 and £6 for inflatable support cushion and cover. I also bought reigns from boots, about £10, (cut handle in half and thread through strap holes to attach) as it only has a three point lap harness which I didn't trust to hold DD in (had a six month old I nannied for throw himself out of a highchair and land on his head, luckily without injury, years ago). Light to move (even with DD in it), doesn't take a huge amount of space, comfy for DD, tray at a good height for her to feed herself and be at table with it removed, easy to clean, comes to bits quickly for transporting, looks nice. Only negative for me is that cushion cover is not wipe clean. I am about to get another one as I take DD to work with me and the massive, heavy highchair I have been lent for there is driving me nuts.

The ikea one is great value. We use ours occasionally when we travel to friends/family. However the only downside is their feet dangle down as there is no foot rest. For permanent use at home we have the stokke tripp trapp. It's pricey but will last your dc up to adulthood as converts to chair and grows with your child. I love it as dc can sit at the table with us and it's designed to ensure child sits with correct posture. Has a foot rest so child can put feet firmly flat. Easy to clean too. Not sure we will use ours to adulthood but will definitely use until ds2 is tall enough to sit at table properly. Resale value is quite good too.

We've absolutely loved the Mothercare MyHi. No creases anywhere for food to get stuck in and very easy to remove straps to wash. Doesn't look grubby after use the way some plastic chairs can. First one arrived broken but was replaced easily and has lasted very well. It replaced a second-hand all-singing, all-dancing graco one which was a nightmare to clean. I'd say avoid all cushiony type things - don't think my DS missed it at all and the creases just got filled with food.

Have just graduated to a second hand tripp trapp without restraints. Still nervous DS will slip out / tip over, but so far working very well, looks great and will grow with him. Still bloody expensive off gumtree, so will second the person stating they have good resale value! Looked for alternatives but nothing else looked like it would fit under our table and blend in as well with the adult furniture. I like it a lot.

I second the Stokke Tripp Trapp. My DM had them for both my DB and DSis who are now 8 & 9 and still using them as it puts them at a much better height at the dining table. I'll be getting one shortly for my DS. They are expensive in comparison to other highchairs at first look but but definitely worth it IMO as they last so much longer.

You can't go wrong with the Stokke Tripp Trapp. It is a bit more expensive, but you could always get a second hand one pretty easily. We still use it for DS2 (age nearly 3) as he's quite little and it means he sits at the table properly. And we just bought the newborn chair (second hand) to put on DS1's old Tripp Trapp so that DD1 (3 days old) can be up at the table with us too.

Another vote for Ikea antilop. It's perfect in its simplicity.

IKEA antilop has been one of our best baby buys. It's perfect for DD to sit with us at the table and so easy to clean!

Another vote for the Mothercare Myhi. It's similar to the Ikea one, but with a better harness. And doesn't look like one of the scary alien things from War of the Worlds Grin

IKEA antilop.

It's the only way to go. Cheap, easy to clean, sturdy.

I bought a cosatto one and hated it. Love the ikea one.

How well can baby sit?

Cosatto 3 sixti offers great back support if that's an issue for you? I don't like the ikea ones but have found the Cosatto ideal for 6-18 months and then moved to wooden sit up to table seat

Ikea Antilop here too. The legs unclip easily, so I can put the seat and tray in the dishwasher if needed.

Another vote for the IKEA antilop! My DD can sit up, but is still a bit wobbly, so the inflatable insert helps her sit well in the high chair. And it is so easy to clean!! My DD is the type of baby who is clean as a whistle when it comes to light coloured foods....and then I give her something bright red, and she likes to smear it Grin they tray pops off really easily and either wiped clean or sometimes we put it in the dishwasher

Durable and practical? That'll be a Tripp Trapp then.

We've used ours for more than 10 years and now they serve as back ups when we have extra visitors (sturdy and comfy enough for adults too).

I think we will go with the ikea one. They Mothercare one is no longer available. The reason we didn't want to spend a fortune is that dp has been made redundant so the Stokke is out as it's far to expensive. I think we will try the reigns hack with the harness.

You'll need the slidey plastic adjusters from the ikea harness to secure the reigns strap under the chair. Should make sense once you see it.

Depends on space as well.. we have a tiny kitchen and most highchairs have legs which stick right out which would get in the way here and be a trip hazard so I've bought one that will save more space and can be pushed up against the table after use (East Coast multi-height highchair).

I have however heard that Antillop and Tripp Trapp are great.

Just to add, the tripp trapp would be good for a small kitchen as well but because of the price I bought the east coast one which looks similar.
