Clothes preferences?

I was very surprised yesterday when my 18m ds refused to let me put his coat on him and fetched an alternative. Luckily I had another coat that I tried, and this one was apparently acceptable. The coat he didn't like was a padded one, whilst the one he accepted had a fleece lining (and he brought a fleece as his choice)

Has anyone else experienced clothes preferences at such an early age?

Probably finds the other one more comfortable.

My ds was like this and also refused to wear new coats at that age!

Oh yes my DD has been like this for a long time. She is now 2 1/2 and we have major negotiations about what she is going to wear from her knickers to her hair clips.

Yup. DD started to refuse anything non-purple at about 18 months

She's now 3.5 and a joy ()... tried to paint her nails black to go with her halloween pumpkin outfit - she's been wanting them black since last halloween. She announced that they had to be orange to go with the pumpkin!!!

my dd refused to wear trousers from about 18months, and it lasted until she was about 3. She was given a pair of shorts by her cousin, and from then on, she became more flexible
