Fussy with food

How can I stop my 15 month old boy from being fussy with food. One day he'll love marmite on toast and the next week it will be all over the floor. Last night he had pasta and sauce which in the past has been a fave and it went everywhere followed by a tantrum. I see other toddlers his age eating lots of different things but he just has no interest. I'm out of work at the moment so money is so tight I sometimes go without lunch so he can eat and it's so upsetting to just see him chuck it on the floor. It will be a good 4 hours in between meals so he should be hungry. Any help will be gratefully received x

Try not to worry too much, though I know that's easier said than done. I think kids this age tend to go through phases with food - mine was great with omelette, pasta, toast etc up until about 12 months when he suddenly decided the next day he hated all those. He went down to only wanting sticky rice, sometimes peas/broccoli, melon, cheese toasties and homemade dried fried (no oil) chips. Now he's 18 months, he's suddenly decided bananas are ok. Still no luck with bread or pasta though, or any meat. As long as they're getting the rough basics in don't worry too much - I knew of a kid that would only eat jam sandwiches! It changed after a few months though (& apparently his Dr said he was somendow getting all his nutrients?!).

Just keep trying new things every now and then, they'll change eventually x

Ok great. Thank you ladies. My daily mantra is "it's just a phase" so I should have stuck to that really. It's just hard not to take it so personally.
