Smacking - "Proud to Smack" new tv programme out soon

Just read my newsletter from Mumsnet.
At the bottom it says 1/3 of parents smack see Daily Mail.

Went to Daily Mial - sorry can't do links.

There is a new programme out soon called :

"SMACK And I'm Proud will be shown at 9pm on ITV1 on Thursday For more information on smacking go to www.itv.com/ smack "

Was really shocked at article.

I think Mumsnet is totally anti smacking.

My son is nearly 3.
I have smacked him possibly 4 or 5 times.
My dh has smacked him once.
I believe that what we have done is right.
But I would certainly not say that I am particularly proud.
I believe that society is very anti smacking at the moment.
And I am not sure that I totally agree with that.

BUT, as I said, PROUD, I am not.

And in the article, it said that the 3 families smacked nearly every week.

Now, I can't say I think that is right at all.

These families seem very extreme and I bet that this programme will fuel the anti-smacking sentiment that is around at the moment.

We'll have to wait and see if this programme is totally biased ?????????/

Not sure I will watch it as I hate watching parents hit their children.

I didn't watch it either, but I'm sure it's already been on.
