Nappies for naps?

DS is 3.2 and has been potty trained for about a month. He's doing really well and only had a few accidents. Two of these accidents were when he was having a nap. He's in a pull up at night and rarely naps in the day (he's a nightmare at BT if he naps). We're going on holiday in a few weeks and I know with the time change and busy days he'll have naps most days. Should I put him in a nappy when he seems sleepy? We'll also be doing some long car trips so I'm considering nappies for thoses. I've heard that you shouldn't put children in nappies after they've been potty trained but I don't know what to do.

I'm not really sure what the answer is. My DS (2.7yo) has been potty trained for a few weeks and the main time he has an accident is either during his nap, or immediately after waking. Thankfully he usually naps on the sofa so I just put a towel under him.

Maybe you could try the big pads (like puppy training or maternity bed protector ones) on the car seat just in case?

We currently use pull-ups for night time and we don't call them nappies - they are his bed time pants and he knows that they are just in case. He sometimes insists on having his big boy pants on over the top as well which is fine. We've had more dry nights than wet ones and most mornings when he calls for me he tells me he needs a wee.

I have also tried pads that you put in pants (like a sanitary towel) for nap times but they really don't hold all the wee so not been a great success.

I'll have a look at puppy pads. Slightly concerned because we'll be borrowing a car seat from BIL. Don't want to return it stinking of wee!!

We bought car seat protectors (a close parent and a koo-di) for our cars. They've never been tested by ds weeing though.
