My DS is a fantastic, adorable lil man and he has been a pleasure to have since the moment our eyes met, and he still is except when he throws a wobbly!recently, especially when out shopping, he starts to cry and goes balistic, by screaming and wriggling like crazy till he gets his own way. i swore to myself i'll never give in to a tantrum with MY child and i am!!i even give him things in his hand to calm and distrct him, and i swore i wouldn't do that either!i've been employed in childcare all my life and i've been complemented for my child management skills, especially to control tantrums, but why is it posing an impossible task with my own?is it because i'm too involved?what is it and how do i help myself, in order to help him grow and flourish into my pride and joy as well as give him what he needs and desire?HOW

The joys of terrible twos far far far too early . DD did it too.

The ignoring thing is the best, and yes, you are having problems because you are closer to the situation - much easier to ignore someone else's screaming child than your own (and also easier to be unembarrassed by it if its not your own ).

Deep ignoring breaths, and ignore any old hags glaring at you for your unruly child - it is normal, most of us have em and are actually looking at you sympathetically (or avoiding your eye because they know that you are embarrassed and don't want to add to it).
