Amazing progress

DD 9 almost 19mths old with Down's syndrome) has been making strides lately....

fingerfeeding after much persuasion and many attempts.... she managed to eat a few toast fingers on the weekend.

we have been trying to crack the bottle to cup drinking and she managed to drink a few mouthfuls from a cup as well...

tonight was the best though....

when I got in late from work dd was eating pieces of banana - picking them up from her tray and eating them rather than being fed them.

We have been reading a book the last few nights with black and white photos of babies in and tonight she was first of all touching the words and then stroking the pictures... then she pointed at one of the babies - an actual pointing pose with her hand - NEVER done that before. THe book finishes with the phrase and this is the baby that I love the best with a mirror on the opposite page - DD always finishes with a smile and a kiss for the baby in the mirror. Tonight I also got the ba ba ba syllable... I am just so pleased and blown away with her progress lately. (very proud mama!!)
