First overseas holiday with 4yr old son!

Hello,

We're hoping to take our son on his first overseas holiday next year (he'll be 4 when we go). We've only been on holiday in the UK so far.

I was hoping that someone might be able to give us some ideas on somewhere to go within about 4hrs flight time, and that's family orientated??
We're not especially concerned with babysitting facilities or children's clubs etc-just somewhere where there are lots of families and kiddies so he can have a great time in the sun!

Thanks in advance, any ideas greatly appreciated.
(I know this isn't the best section for this-but I wanted to post and I can't get to the Travel section at the mo).

Were going back to Rhodes this year for the third time, Its about a 4 hr flight. We stayed in the Doretta Beach Hotel in tholos its only 10 minute from the airport which is a real bonus as a hot coach is quite unbearable. Its all inclusive (I felt it was a must with the kids, took the pressure off cooking and constant requests for icecream and drinks). there is a kids club but i think its for over 5's There is also hotel entertainment seperate to the club. The hotel is right on the beach and is very child friendly, there are plenty of websites with this hotel on and pretty good ratings. Not a place for couples without kids. There is a pool which is about a foot deep for the little ones and on that is much deeper for more serious swimmers. The food is good, with wide variety, if you go for two weeks tho the menu is repeated each week.

Cant say too much more but if you think of any questions ask away.

Well,I live in Turkey and it fits your criteria.
There are so many places to choose from it is impossible to recommend really.
I wouldn't go in July/August as is bloody hot.
We travel a lot with our two and get on just fine.

Yes really! It does look lovely and it looks like there's plenty of space for a mad little 3yr old. Thanks for the CAT offer-if its alright with then I probably will after I've confirmed dates and so on. Thanks again

Tunisia is only a two hour flight. I went there for my first holiday as a single mum with a fantastic company called Small Families. Although its hot, there's a breeze from the beach. Its clean and child friendly.

I work in travel and the list in endless

Majorca/menorca/ibiza - not san antonio are all a 2hour flight

Portugal - 3 hours

Greek islands - 4 hours

Make sure you take lots of new toys to keep him entertained on the flight.
