what do you do if your child would rather be any where but at home? Sad

Hi, my DD1 used to be a like that. She would ask where we were going that particular day. I would always end up arranging to do something or to meet someone, even if I was knackered, just because she didn't seem to want to be at home. I always wondered whether it was when at home I could always find something to do other than play, whereas when out she got my full attention.... sorry not much help but can really sympathise.

My 5 year old DDs are like this - but I think it's my fault, I've taken them out so much that they're used to it and find staying in a bit boring. I just found it easier to be out and about when they were tots, I couldn't bear to be cooped up in our house with two tiny tearaways Grin. But now they are older and less hassle and I want to chill at home they're not having it.

sandyballs, I feel exactly the same...I have done so much with my two. Had to get out of the house with 2 tiny babies!! and they have got used to it!

I would rather have it that way. When I was a childminder I had some children that hardly went out. When they went to toddler groups with me they were so shy for a long time and wouldn't move

When I was a Nanny, the children actually cried when we went out as they were so used to just sitting in watching videos again and again....boy did they get a shcok Grin

So you've got twins too anniebear? You're probably right it is better for them to mix with people and see new things.

There's a programme on tonight about identical quads - I bet their mum needs to get out, although it would be very difficult with 4!!

agggghhhh..... If I had quads I wouldn't need to 'get out'....I'd be gone!!!!

lol, packed and ran away on my own lol Grin

yes, my dd is like that - has been since birth - anywhere but home. She's almost 3 and we're still doing a lot outside - playgrounds, swimming, playcentres, visiting people, going to nannas to stay for the day every weekend, walking our dog etc. - at home I find she winges a lot more and she wants to have TV on all the time, so it's kind of better this way. It's hard work but at least it's different.
We;re off to Legoland in couple of weeks :)
