Really daft question - supermarket trolleys!!

What age do babies go into the big supermarket trolley seats – the ones where their legs sick through the holes. My dd is starting to look a bit big for the little reclining seat!! She is 9 months.

but that said the bigger trollies say for children 12 months or over.
ds has been using one since about 9 months though

There is a weight limit on the reclining ones, 9kg iirc, but I swapped once mine were looking uncomfortable laying back, and once they were pretty stable sitting up (so definitely by 9 mths) I used to tuck a little blanket around them to pad the seat out, and to stop them bouncing around too much.

Yep, they are fine if they are able to support themselves in a sitting position.. Mine def. went in before 9 months because the reclining seats were too uncomfortable by then.

Its not a silly question - I'm really glad you asked cos I have this dilemma every time go! DS has been in the bigger ones since about 5 mths because he was looking uncomfortable & starting to grumble in the reclining ones. I make sure he has his thick coat on to pad him out. He really loves shopping now!

I think this is a great questio - I recall pondering the same when mine were babies!

What I want to know is - what do you do when your 4 yr old is desperate to be in the reclining seat and be strapped in with baby harness? Have a tantrum about this EVERY time.
