I need some inspiration for birthday presents - fancy buying her a simple game (like connect 4) but have no idea what they can play at this age?

TIA X

yes, my dd (aged 2.7) plays teaparties or dolls/pushchairs. She recently got a tea set form the Disney shop which comes in a huge plastic teapot - she loves it.

I agree, you cant go wrong with dolls and pushchairs so they can play mum. Mine loves dressing up too. Everyone is different tho, so if you put the telly on of a morning when all the kids toys are advertised, you'll soon know what they'd like, mine usually shouts it all over the house!

Nearly bought connect 4 for my dd today, she loves games. She'll be three in December, i decided it was a bit advance. Chad Valley do a version of frustration aimed form 3.
Pretend play is great, dd loves being a dr, a fairy, a mummy! She likes Mr Potato head and we haev loads of jigsaws, but she is doing 35pieces, which is aimed more at 4yr olds. She loves playing shop and cooking. We have a good game called ELefun, where you have to catch the butterflies form the elephant's trunk. This is made by MB games, she also likes Pop Up Pirate. Hope you've some ideas.

The best present my DD has had today (& I wasn't the one to buy it) was a £5 stroller pram from Woollies.

She wouldn't & still doesn't let go of it. Everything she owns is pushed around in it, including pieces of jigsaws & books & oh anything.

It has to be parked at night in a special place, generally near the back door so it is the first thing she sees when she comes down in the morning.

hi thanks for all your replies!

DD has all the tea party stuff and is very very good at pretend play which i actively try and encourage. However, i was just looking to buy her an actual "game" but didnt know what to buy.

Will maybe look at the Frustration game thing and see what thats like

thanks X

The 3 year old girls at the nursery where I work love to play with dolls, pushchirs and dressing up clothes. They also like jigsaws and picture lotto games. Connect 4 is a bit to advanced for them. Some of the older 3 ;s are begining to do very simple bourd games.

tea parties, dress ups, being a mini mum ( as she has a baby sister - so lots of copying me!!)

What I am about to make her - just need to get the time - is a matching game. Have taken lots of photos and will laminate them and get her to match them by putting one on top of the other. This can then expand into a simply snap card game. But more fun as the pics are of her things, her, family members, places we have been, animals she likes)
