Hi, expecting baby number 6 in December and just wondered what people thought of Elora for a girl ?
I like it (went of it a bit when someone said it was the name of a baby in that film Willow).
That said my husband really likes it and we find it really hard to agree when it comes to names so just wondered what others think of it ? I think it might be a bit of a marmite name in that people might love it or hate it ?

I like it, very pretty and a little bit different.

Think the E is pointless, assuming it's pronounced Eh-Laura. The Eh gets swallowed up. Laura much nicer.

Not mad about it. Looks a bit like a cross between Eloise and Laura.

Looks like you have added an extra line to a perfectly good name (Flora)

I think people will misread it as Flora (which is what I just did)

I know of an Elora - named after some caves in India, I believe. It's pretty.

You could use the spelling Ellora to distinguish it from Flora.

Sort of sounds like Spanish or Italian for 'so what'..

I like Clara and Lara (short for Larissa) too.

Eleanora is a lot more substantial, imo. Elora has a 'neither fish nor fowl' feel to it.

I think it's pronounced El-or-a.

I never thought people might mix it up with Flora !

It seems from most peoples replies that they're not keen but it's actually growing on me anyway.
Thanks for the responses though, we got a lot of negative comments when we announced our last little girls name that i really hadn't seen comming. At least this time if we on decide on Elora i'll know that it won't be to most peoples taste but i do still think it's quite a pretty name.

I like it, but I do think she'll spend years saying "no, not Laura, EH-Lora"

I like it. It's a little different but not too much. Pretty
