Names to go with a bloody awful surname!

Okay there are worse.. but any nice, pretty, delicate names that I pick, are slightly ruined by the surname 'Savage'..

No idea what babs is yet, so open to boy or girl name suggestions! Good luck

I know someone called Ian Savage, I thought that was nice together.

I would just go ffor the pretty names, along with a nice middle name and not worry too much about the surname. Savage isn't too bad TBH. I would just avoid anything too hardsh, as the surname is a harsh sounding name as it is.

Or something traditional such as Charles, Edward, Matilda, etc.

Mine is just as bad and after a lifetime of people mispronouncing it - I couldn't bring myself to do it

I know Savage is not that bad, it goes with some names. . it just sounds very harsh as Hulababy said and so doesn't flow too well with names that i've suggested.

I also know that the more traditional names are fashionable right now, but I don't quite think that I could call my child something so traditional that it almost sounds odd that such a young person is called that iykwim

Perhaps if you chose an alliterative name it would soften the surname?

I don't think its a problem name at all. I would have thought most names would go with it. If it were my name i don't think I would be worried...

I've always liked Evie or Gracie for a girl, and Elliot for a boy but when I say them out loud, it just doesn't fit?

Savage is a great surname - it has personality .

So you need a name with lots of personality to carry it off. Don't go for something in the top 100.

I would go for something long - Cassandra?

I can think of far worse names. But do agree that it sounds a little bit grr.

Go for as many syllables as you can. People are then likely to have lost interest before reaching the surname (which is really not so bad by the way).

I think Elliot Savage is nice. Dr. Elliot Savage, yeah that has a nice ring to it!
